Puedeis ayudarme tranducir 1000 palabrs de espanol a ingles?

Hola a todos! por un proyecto personal, necesito traducir un texto de espanol a ingles.

Pardoname, pero escribere ahora en ingles pero es deficil para mi explicarlo en espanol.

It's a story I wrote based on events of a Neverwinter Nights server I used to play... I want to see how it sounds like in Spanish, and I am also looking for a Spanish female voice actress to help me record it. But right now, the most important thing is the translation.

I've attached the story to this post. If anyone can help me translate it to Spanish, I'd really appreciate it. I know it might be a lot to ask, but I was hoping it might help some people who are practicing their English, and you get to help a fellow community member improve his Spanish (me!) because I will read your translation with great joy!

Hehe. First off, si, por supuesto es puede esperar! And no me molestaria leer en voz alta el texto (yea, of course it can wait, and I don't mind reading the text out loud )

I'd also offer 40$ for the translation alone. That money can go to the Puerta de Baldur server, to you, or maybe some to you and some to the server? Whatever you (or the eventual translator) chooses.

I know 40$ is not a lot but it's mostly symbolic, because I know 1000 words is not a small amount. And I want to use it for something I "might" sell (dual-text language learning video-app).

I also have some 1000-words stories where I need male voice actors, but I didn't finish writing them.

I'm giving it a look on my free time. I have a question, though.

How picky are you with name translations? Stormhold, for example, would be "Fortaleza de la Tormenta", but "Torreón Tormenta" sounds better, is still accurate in its meaning and it's more in tune with standard practice when translating fantasy names.

Another thing would be words that, when translated, have different connotations in Spanish than they do in English. For example zealous is usually translated as "virtuoso", which would be more like righteous, as "celoso" is usually more associated with jealousy in Spanish. I've seen some people not being ok with that, which ends in translations that are, well, not quite adequate. So now I prefer to ask before doing that kind of thing.

EDIT: Here you go. If you like it, donate the money to the server. Just let them know it was from you and me both, I guess. If you want to change something, let me know. And I'd ask you that if you ever published it in its current state, you'd give credits for the translation. No money needed for that one, but it looks very good on my résumé.

I lack a lot of experience with proper translations and this would be a first approach (With a few questions, of course) about our text. I had a little trouble with some things:

-There are a bunch of terrible translations from english to spanish in the area of fantasy literature. Even having similar texts side-by-side, I feel that there is a lot of meaning and shades that are lost in translation and so I lack a proper guide.
-Some expressions have no spanish equivalent. I've got to find a plausible interpretation.
-Aesthetic is difficult to preserve while translating. The speech still sounds fairly convincing, in my opinion.

PS As DBlues says, there are people for and against of name translation. I loved the english versions of the city names of the Warcraft universe. But reading "Stormwind" translated into "Ventormenta" grinds my gears :lol:

Much appreciated! I read the translations, they're excellent. I've gone with DBlues' version (Stormhold was left as Stormhold, Coffinewode also doesn't require translation), though both versions seem excellent.
